Hi tech101,

>>
A TV program is reporting that the radio signal from a nearby WiFi AP could reach as high as 2000 mW that is 200 times higher than standard allowed.<<

The standard does not specify maximum power, the law does.

In the US 2.4 GHz band, 4W transmit power is allowed, but most home devices use 200 mW transmit power into a x4 (6 dBi) antenna.

The TV program is not correct.

I use a D-Link/Kyocera KR-1 that can switch the Wi-Fi off.
