Lindy, it's amazing how busy-body bossy people can be. They are the nasty little children in play group who want to boss people around, take all the toys for themselves and push littler children over. I'm all for healthy eating, but it's fun to have a Quadruple Bypass sometimes. heartattackgrill.com [your link didn't work, so, for convenience, there it is without the bits at the end]
Like police who are always too busy, over-loaded and blah blah blah, but they have plenty of time to hassle me over something such as I might not want to wear a crash helmet on my bicycle while riding in the park, or I might get sick of waiting at a red light at night and go through it.
I am thinking that red lights should be treated like stop signs. Stop, make sure there is nothing coming, and go. The USA allows turning right on a red light. We are not allowed the equivalent move here [to the left] because our intelligence is considered too low.
I note that they say nurses are professionals so deserve respect. Do they mean other non-professional occupations do not deserve respect. I have contempt for that attitude. Any job deserves respect, including waitresses who are doing a good job with their customers, which the nurse waitresses seemed to be doing. The real nurses should focus on doing as good a job for their patients.
How did New Hampshire get on with the Libertarian movement there? Is it free? Or are they dying?
Incidentally, I hadn't realized how low the murder rate is in Honolulu compared with New York and how low New York is compared with New Orleans. I think Katrina in Honolulu wouldn't have been much of a problem.
Honolulu did feel very safe though. I was comfortable wandering around at night. But I was surprised how many police there were and they seemed to be quite busy "getting" people and not traffic offences.
