Not sure if this applies to anyone, but at 47 yr old, 5'11" 207 lbs and unable to close 34 waist shorts I was forced buy my first 36's and I panicked.

I trip to the ER with an unusual chest pain caused me to see my first cardiologist, who quickly advised me to lower my cholesterol from 297, to below 200 and to lose 10 lbs in 6 months, or he would prescribe statins.

I immediately went for a colonoscopy and endoscopy which found and removed stomach polyp, which was causing my indigestion, and which led to the ER visit in the first place.

the cold turkey removal of sugar from my diet, and then bagels and ice cream, eggs and challah bread caused my weight to shed dramatically and in 6 months, I was 186 from 207, and my cholesterol to 157.

the next 1o months of staying consistent with no sugar, challah bread, bagels, ice cream, sharply less red meat and almost no alcohol has brought me to a current 177, and I have not ever felt better.

I will get the cholesterol readings in DEC, but I imagine they have imrpved again and my resting BP is 107-110 over 80-85

all this without drugs or any increase in exercise which tells me, our diet either assists us or defeats us
