Barb, Don't forget that pointing to the downside that IS clearly evident in Amsterdam, is similar to pointing to the WORST parts of any major US city. There is nothing of value in talking about teens abusing drugs within a system that allows it. Because it ignores the fact that a system that doesn't allow it (US) has a problem that is EQUALLY dangerous, if not more so...because we habitually treat the abusers as criminals (which, by law, they are). I readily acknowledge that the downside mentioned in the other post exists. Nobody ever said it didn't. However, the country, and the system, as a whole is stable, and quite comfortable and happy. Unlike our partisan-torn USA.
