off topic

regarding ViaSat, I read the recent news but lack the technical knowledge to understand the ramifications. What I still don't understand is:

1. whether ViaSat will ultimately be a competitor or an ally.

2. how does such a small company survive in the land of giants? aren't they vulnerable to being gobbled up on moments notice (not that it is necessarily bad for shareholders)?

3. the valuation is amazing. Most of these smaller "start-ups", for lack of a better term, usually has sky high PEs and are already priced at expectations for the next century. VSAT, if they hit $.62 for the yr would have a trailing PE of just the low 20s. Am I missing something here.

The ViaSat thread is inactive. May be we can get a few QCOMers and LORers to get that thread going. I hold some ViaSat now and think it may have as much potential as QCOM and LOR.
