ANZ LAUNCHES INTERNET BANKING POWERED BY EDIFY SOLUTION

ANZ LAUNCHES INTERNET BANKING POWERED BY EDIFY SOLUTION

Continues Edify's Successful Implementation Momentum and Fast
Deployment

Record in U.S. and Internationally

SANTA CLARA, Calif., April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Edify Corporation
(Nasdaq: EDFY), a global leader in enterprise self service solutions,
announced that ANZ -- the Australia and New Zealand Banking Group
Limited -- this week became the latest Edify licensee to go live with
an Internet banking service. ANZ Internet Banking, now available at
anz.com provides customers with a convenient, secure way to
undertake their day-to-day banking online.

The launch of ANZ Internet Banking follows extensive feedback from
8,500 ANZ customers who participated in a pilot service over the last
18 months. The resulting service, based on a combination of Edify's
Electronic Banking System (EBS) application and highly reliable, highly
scalable servers and Internet software technologies from Hewlett
Packard, was deployed just eighteen weeks after Edify was selected in
November 1998.

"ANZ has implemented Edify's Electronic Banking System (EBS) to create
a robust, secure, flexible and customer-focused Internet banking
presence," said William Soward, vice president, business development at
Edify. "We're pleased to welcome ANZ to the ranks of the approximately
60 banks that have now gone live with EBS across the U.S., Europe and
Asia."

Since its introduction in 1996, Edify's Electronic Banking System has
become the leading on-premise Web banking solution, with more than one
hundred financial institutions as customers worldwide -- thirteen of
them among the top 100 U.S. banks including Chase Manhattan Bank, First
American National Bank, and Huntington Bancshares, as well as de novo
Internet-only banks including Net.B@nk and Compubank.

 Forward Looking Statements
The matters set forth in this press release, such as statements
relating to the EBS and other products and services are forward looking
and are subject to a number of risks and uncertainties that could cause
actual results to differ materially. Although on-line banking has been
available in various forms for many years, there can be no assurance
that consumers will accept on-line banking over the Internet or the
company's products, including EBS, in sufficient numbers to make
on-line banking or the company's products successful. In addition,
given the uncertainties of software development there can be no
assurance that the system will be developed on time or at all, or that
the company or its customers will be able to implement applications in
the anticipated time frames or with the anticipated features,
functionality or benefits. Further information on the important
factors that could affect the results or outcomes discussed in the
forward-looking statements is included in Edify's Annual Report on Form

10-K and its other reports filed from time to time with the Securities
