For Canadians who wonder why polls have persistently indicated over 50% of Albertans are in favour of independence, it may in part due to modern day "pamphleteers" like Action Alberta.

During historical political unrest, for example, the French and American Revolutions, it was pamphleteers who shaped and galvanized public opinion to bring about political change. Pamphleteers were the social media of those times. Today, social media via the internet is playing that same role. I view Action Alberta and its founders as modern day pamphleteers, playing a small but important role in shaping and galvanizing public opinion in favour Alberta independence.

Recent polls show Albertans' opinion in favour of independence has persisted above 50%. Should Trudeau win a 2nd majority, or worse, form a Liberal-ND-Green coalition gov't, it is my hope such an electoral outcome will galvanize Albertans' opinion and move senior members of Alberta's legal and business community to call a special general UCP meeting to make and move a motion forcing premier Kenney to hold a referendum for Albertans to vote on a declaration of independence.

Laurentian Liberals and Quebec oligarchs have plundered western Canada for over a 100 years. Under the new Charter, the plundering is entrenched via equalization and transfer payments, and distribution of electoral representation and power. There appears to be no political solution. Now that separatist sentiment is growing in the west, just as the British sought out pamphleteers' printing presses, Trudeau has announced a Digital Charter to control public opinion. The Oct 21st election is likely to be one of the most important elections in Canadian history.
