If I recall the highest prices paid back then were in S La drilling in the deep Tuscaloosa trend and for the long term contracts signed for the deep (20,000 feet, which was very high back then) and high pressure wells the were drilled in the Anadarko Basin in OK.

There were some nice long term reserves found in LA, and many people went bust chasing the deep Anadarko wells.
