12:09 ET NEON Comms (NOPT) 8.49 +0.39 (+4.8%): Signs a multi-year, multi-million dollar contract with Verizon Global Networks, an
affiliate of Verizon Communications (VZ), to provide dark fiber backbone infrastructure to facilitate long-distance voice and data services in
Massachusetts and New York. Delivery is scheduled for the latter part of 2001.

12:01 ET Briazz (BRZZ) 8.32 +0.32: The second IPO of the day opens for trading. Briazz is a preparer of lunch and breakfast foods for the
"on-the-go" consumer. Briazz sells its products primarily through its company-operated cafes. The 2 mln share deal priced at the low end of the
$8-$12 range. WR Hambrecht serving as underwriter.

11:42 ET Simplex Solutions (SPLX) 19.10 +7.10: -- Update -- Seeing major whipsaw action in this IPO. Traders certainly will not be happy
with the execution prices received in early trading. Unusually high volatility (even for an IPO) may be a function of this being the first "hot"
Nasdaq IPO since the switch to decimals.

11:31 ET IPO Opens : IPO of Simplex Solutions (SPLX 16.92 +4.92) opens for trading.

11:30 ET Sector Watch: Semiconductor : -- Technical -- SOX index still positive but weakening with the usual list (KLAC, AMAT, NVLS)
providing leadership on the way down. Failure to take out recent high and the top heavy posture of the daily indicators raise the possibility that
the correction off the April high has yet to be completed. This scenario allows for further sideways to lower trade short term.

11:27 ET Cheap Tickets (CTIX) 11.54 +0.97 (+9.2%): Issue upgraded this morning at Dain Rauscher Wessels to BUY AGGRESSIVE
from Neutral. Firm thinks that industry growth appears compelling and investable. Expects numerous internal initiatives to begin impacting
numbers. Firm has a price target of $15, but believes stock could be driven higher by short covering... (volume 313K; float 8.83 mln; shares
short approx. 2.2 mln).
