Progressed to this leadership role due to excellence in training/mentoring, resource optimization, scheduling, and troubleshooting. Maintain full-charge oversight of recruitment, training, and development of new technicians. Supervise a team of 2-5 technicians. Benchmark and assess fermentation parameters to optimize yield based on economics and scalable success; perform all aspects of troubleshooting for all fermentation. Coordinate experiment scheduling, monitoring, tracking, reporting, and analysis. Present at weekly science meetings. Conduct purchasing and pricing on all plant equipment. Administer process scheduling inclusive of personnel and equipment limitations. Travel to manufacturing partner’s commercial facility as needed.

Key Accomplishments:
• Directed facility running fermentation experiments with 20 bioreactors and lab scale downstream equipment, including drum dryer, spray dryer, and whisperfuge.
• Researched and recommended process changes that yielded 30% productivity increases and slashed production costs. Rectified process control issues at the commercial facility that were inhibiting cost effective production.
• Outlined and established schedules for the process at the commercial facility by evaluating employee and equipment limitations.
• Conceptualized, planned, and launched training programs for new technicians; efforts increased motivation and overall retention
