How some skeptics laughed (e.g. all the regular pro-Intel posters :) when Hector said they would have Dell within a year and how he would aim at the belly of the beast with Opteron

I smell a rat. I agree with others here who think this is a setup.

When I read this: "Intel CEO Otellini 'incredibly disappointed' by Dell's AMD decision"

tgdaily.com

Especially comments like this: "In a memo distributed to company employees this afternoon, Intel CEO Paul Otellini was quoted as expressing disappointment, coupled with guarded optimism , in the wake of Dell's decision yesterday to include AMD Opteron processors in its future multi-processor servers."

I conclude that this is about ego, and Otellini & Mikey Dell are trying hard to embarass Ruiz. Dell will announce that it is dropping Opteron because Intel has surpassed AMD.

On the other hand the people at AMD aren't stupid and they must see this coming. How they will play this bit of intrigue will be very interesting.
