For ALSC stock to start rising three things need to happen:

1- DRAM prices to stabilize and then mover higher
2- JV IPO to be 1Q of 1998
3- Take-over by another company

As for the first reason, it appears that Korean manuf. are starting to scale down production, This could help restore supply/demand balance to the DRAM market sooner than otherwise would have occurred (see post #1970). Today with Post #1982, Taiwan's TI-Acer to slow increases in production capacity and also Taiwan's Vanguard International Semiconductor Corp. THIS SHOULD MAKE DRAM PRICES TO START RISING.

As for the second, any announcement of the IPO should give a spike to ALSC stock.
the third, is anybody's imagination!

So for now load on the stock, because I see the above (at least two of them) happening....

My 2 cents!!!
