John:

as I have used this very method for quite awhile now, I'm glad I have the honor of being the first respondee of your new thread. may it live longer and psosper, and bring some of the same to us!

as we "know" each other from the APM threads, I too echo your positive input on Applied Magnetics. it is the most radically undervalued stock (using this method) that I can currently find (not counting obscure issues with scanty analysts coverage). we received a double dose of encouring news yesterday. I am feeling a little more confident, and I think I will increase tomorrow after having decreased due to concerns of overweighting the stock in my own portfolio. however, with this news I think we could be on the threshold of a relatively quick move back to 60, especially if we get more of what we saw today--the small caps doing significantly better than the Dow.

do you, or anyone have an opinion about Republic Industries? from what I have heard on CNBC, it is the sort of stock that one either hates or loves. Wayne H. seems to have a cult following. others seem to doubt his concept of creating mega car dealerships.

Republic Industries was another stock listed as being undervalued in the Barrons article that you mentioned. I thought some diversification out of tech might be prudent for me, and perhaps others.

again, good luck on your new thread, John. I'll be a frequent visitor if we can gernerate some interest among others.

very best regards.
