Hello irby, I think the key vision is not that these companies have search engine technologies, but that they're (ideally) the default page -- the home page that most people see on a standard browser. That's the closest we've come yet to a successful subliminal "push" medium on the Internet. The ISEs (Internet Search Engines) have that crucial 2-3 seconds of eyeball time every time you start up your browser, almost as if your television played one 30-second mandatory commercial every time you turned it on. I believe that this moment of commercial exposure is presently priceless.
