ConSyGen completes Year 2000 conversion
PHOENIX--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 10, 1997--ConSyGen Inc. (NASDAQ:BB - news) announced today that it hascompleted the automated conversion phase of the Year 2000 correction for nearly 1.5 million lines of COBOL code running on a Hewlett-Packard 3000 system.
``This is a truly exciting day for ConSyGen,'' stated Ron Bishop, president and chief executive officer. ``We believe that we have successfully demonstrated that our ConSyGen 2000 (patent pending) toolset has thecapability to automatically convert source code to be Year 2000 compliant.'' The converted code has beenforwarded to Millenium Enterprises Inc. for testing. ConSyGen believes that the converted code will compile andexecute just as the original code did.
After ConSyGen completed the modification of its toolset to accommodate the HP 3000 environment, it tookConSyGen approximately one (1) month to do the cataloging, the verification of date codes and cross referencesand the conversion of approximately 1.5 million lines of COBOL code to be Year 2000 compliant. Bishop statedthat ConSyGen's ability to quickly convert code to be Year 2000 compliant provides ConSyGen with a competitive advantage in the market for Year 2000 services.
