eracer, I agree with you about being highly dubious about this 4x4. Even if it had a potential, limiting it to Athlon FX makes it a non-starter. Exactly how many of these motherboards does AMD think will sell? How many motherboard makers will chase this market? And if only a fraction of FX buyers buy this dual socket mobo, as a result the volume is so pitiful that even Itanium will beat it, what will be the price of the motherboard? I imagine that the volume of these motherboards will be less than 10% of Opteron mobos, which means that the mobos will cost more than Opteron mobos. Then, what exactly is the point of not going with Opteron instead of FX? This whole thing has a lot of potential, IMO, but AMD marketing instantly killed it by FX only condition, so it is completely irrelevant, and will lead nowhere. BTW, I am much more excited about the real 4x4 (instead of this fake one), the real being 4 way 4 core K8L (with 4 links). That's serious stuff. The other thing is BS. Joe
