BEA to Acquire Software Development Firm Crossgain Corporation
SAN JOSE, Calif., Jul 10, 2001 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- BEA Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: BEAS chart, msgs), one of the world's leading e-business infrastructure software companies, today announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Crossgain Corporation, a privately held software development firm located in Redmond, Washington. The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Under the terms of the agreement, BEA is acquiring a highly-regarded team of engineers to enhance BEA's in-house capabilities dedicated to creating solutions to help make it even easier to work with and build on the BEA WebLogic(R) E-Business Platform.

"Customers look to BEA, as the market leader, to continue to improve the ease with which J2EE applications can be built and to reduce time-to-market for new e-business applications.
