Aberdeen did not miss the mark very far indeed. It is truly amazing how many decisions related to technology are made by pointy head bosses with no real clue.(NO OFFENSE INTENDED TO MANAGEMENT THAT ACTUALLY HAS A CLUE) NT can be an abysmal nightmare as far as lock ups and unexplained crashes. Server side is no contest. NT does not come close to either UNIX or Novell as far as simple uptime. I integrate and manage both and when the client insists on NT I have actually instituted a policy and process in which the client must sign that they fully understand the course of action and have been advised against it. People moving from Novell to NT are simply amazed at the new downtime. When apps like Sybase or Oracle are involved then sometimes we have no choice. Hopefully that will change with Novell 5.0. Here is hoping cludgy NLM's will soon become history. If Novell can prove itself a half way speedy app platform then look out. I have not gotten back in this thing yet due to worries over upcoming earnings but I am close to getting back in fully now that Beta 2 of Moab hit the streets. Sorry to be so long winded.
