Boeing's CEO said Thursday that U.S. economic fundamentals are strong, as are Europe's, but Japan is lagging. Phil Condit, who is head of the world's largest aerospace company that is also one of the top U.S. exporters, also said in a CNBC interview at the World Economic Forum in New York that the commercial air travel industry is improving. "Travel is coming back. Not fast, but month over month is getting better," he said. Shares of Boeing (BA: news, chart, profile) ended Thursday up 95 cents to $40.95.
