(Luke 22:36 NASB)" Take a money belt so you can hide the money that you are going to give to the poor. And a bag is always handy for carrying figs or something. And of course the sword is for when you are ready to die: Matthew 26:52 "Then Jesus said to him, "Put your sword back into its place, for all those who take the sword will die by the sword" And then there is also this godly task! Exodus 32:27 "He said to them, "Thus says Yahweh, the God of Israel,'Every man put his sword on his thigh, and go back and forth from gate to gate throughout the camp, and every man kill his brother, and every man his companion, and every man his neighbor.'"
