ECI Telecom's IP Telephony Solutions Support iNOW! Interoperability Initiative
PETAH TIKVA, ISRAEL--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 13, 1999--ECI Telecom Ltd. (NASDAQ/NM symbol: ECILF - news) announced today that it is joining ITXC Corp, Lucent Technologies and VocalTec Communications (NASDAQ: VOCLF - news) in support of the iNOW!(TM) (interoperability NOW!) Profile.
iNOW! is a standards-based, multi-vendor initiative established to facilitate rapid interoperability among IP telephony platforms. In addition to ECI Telecom, leading manufacturers such as : Alcatel, Analogic, Ascend, AudioCodes, Cisco, Clarent, Dialogic, Linkon, Lucent, Oki, Natural MicroSystems, Netrix, Netspeak, Quescom, Siemens, Tundo, and VocalTec are working with the iNOW! Profile to make their gateways, boards, and gatekeepers interoperable.
ECI Telecom will launch its ITX-1000 carrier class IP Telephony product line at the upcoming VON99 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The ITX-1000 is a state of the art Carrier-Class platform, that is fully interoperable with the ITX-120 ( VocalTec VGW v.4xx gateway offered also under ECI Telecom brand name), and brings true toll quality and quality of service to IP Telephony.
The ITX-1000 is an H.323 V.2 compliant family. It can support up to 960 simultaneous Voice, Fax and Voice-Band Data calls, and is equipped with powerful call classification, echo cancellation and voice compression algorithms. The ITX-1000 is a comprehensive, end-to-end solution, including a gateway, gatekeeper, a sophisticated management system and a complete menu of client services for all phone-to-phone PC-to-PC and Fax-to-Fax applications.
In addition, the I-Gate 1000 (ITX-1000 Gateway) includes internal redundancy capabilities and a hot swappable cards capability (reducing MTTR), and a cluster operation capability (for the PSTN networks which can support such a feature).
