Regarding ECG Technologies:

Here is the original Corel press release, which came out 12/11/96. In other words, we did know about it.

corel.com

You will notice that it says $8 mil, not $13. Also, presumably ECG has not actually yet paid for the software--Office for Java is not yet in Beta. But anyway, this is legit, even though it is a little fishy.

On a different note, Office for Java can turn out to be the best thing to ever happe to us, shareholders. If indeed 10 million network computers will be sold throughout 1998, and if even half of them will have Corel Office for Java at, say, $30 each, that would mean $150 mil profit for Corel in US. If Draw and all the rest just allow Corel to break even, this $150 mil would be profit, which translates into about $2 a share, and at a multiple of 30, the stock price would be $60 dollars (US). Now wouldn't that be something.
