I've always understood that academia is going to be mostly liberal, and I can tolerate that just as I do the fact that my favorite musicians and performers are liberals, for the most part.

Clay Christenson has predicted that as many as 1/2 of today's universities will be in bankruptcy in 15 years. This is likely true. And they deserve it. The student loan programs effectively pump multi-trillion dollars into these resorts for grown up children.

The latest fad is the "Lazy River" -- which schools from all over the country have build on student loan dollars (here's one from Central Florida, but they all pretty have them now:)

Some fool would say, "No, that's athletic program revenue!" Whatever. It is money that could be spend for education.

I'll be glad to see them go. Online courses are better than Brick - Mortar classrooms in many situations.

My point is, a lot of conservatives are turned off I think by the idea of taxpayer dollars going into these resorts for kids who, in California, don't even have to learn basic math anymore.

What the hell is wrong with this picture?
