Doesn't it seem odd that Kerry was in Viet Nam for all of four months and 60 swiftboat commanders claim to have first hand experience that enable them to pass judgement on John Kerry?

Isn't it odd that the 10 who support Kerry were actually on his boat while the 250 others were... where?

There are two issues here. One is Kerry's Viet Nam experience, the second is his anti-war stance when he returned. I suspect the deep seated antagonism generated by Kerry's anti-war statements caused many to remember Kerry's Viet Nam activities in a negative light. Turlow (sp?) is a prime example... he received a Bronze Star for similar activities on the same day Kerry received his, yet it now seems he never read the medal citation with many references to gunfire? Are his recollections colored by events subsequent to that day? That would seem to be the case, as his statements don't jive with his medal citation.

I often wonder if the Swift Vets would even be in existence if it were not for Kerry's anti-war activities that so ticked off so many? But then again, in recalling the harsh attacks on the service John McCain and Max Cleland... there seems to be a consistent agenda by the right to attack any Viet Nam vet running for political office who doesn't share right wing political views.
