Hello Twister. I see you need my help again. How many version of incompatible .doc files have Microsoft got out now? 4, 5, 10? Every time I get a .doc file from somebody, I have to go out and install the latest and greatest .doc format file reader, and hope that installing it doesn't mess up my system. StarOffice at least attempts to deal with all the weird formats.

What's so hard about making .doc files compatible: nothing, but Microsoft really wants you to be stupid enough to go out and buy office xxxx when they next muck about with the format. That's a really productive and compelling stranglehold to want.
