I think this is true and more widespread than just INTC. We went from 0.50uM to 0.18uM, 4 generations, with the same fabs and mostly the same equipment. The quick die shrink game is over, IMHO. That's why, along with what's going on in flash memory and communications, the furture look's so rosy :')
