Had a call with one of my British cycling friends today. I asked about the situation over there. He lives just outside of London. You may all know this:

1) The NHS nationalized (temporarily, supposedly) all hospitals. His wife had an high level administrative role at one and she was furloughed because not a lot of non-Wuhan going on.

2) Lots of anger at the Chinese Communists and he seemed to be up on most of the facts as we know them. I know I had read this but it is nice to have some street level verification.

3) He said the people and some of the press are starting to question the lock down and if it is necessary. He said the press has shown some of the demonstrations here. For the most part they seem a lot more tolerant of being herded.

4) We agreed that most of the media is FOS.

5) He can exercise outside once a day and has been going for rides or walks with his wife. I asked how they monitor it and he didn't think they really can.

6) He was a police officer and military in UK. It sounds like they don't hassle you too much if you aren't violating social distancing rules.
