CALGARY, AB, and BEIJING, PRC, Jan. 23 /CNW/ - Zi Corporation (NASDAQ:
ZICA) (TSE: ZIC) has licensed its eZiText(TM) software to United Digital
Communications (Beijing) Ltd. for use in their new line of PDA (Personal
Digital Assistant) products. eZiText(TM) will be integrated into the Civet
brand PDA to offer enhanced text-input capabilities. The agreement with
United Digital Communications covers the use of eZiText(TM) in English,
Simplified Chinese and Traditional Chinese.

solution for text-input for both alphabetic and character-based languages. We
are moving to capitalize on this growth in new spaces within the consumer

and this implementation on the Civet PDA demonstrates the broad platform
possibilities for eZiText(TM)."
When implemented on a PDA platform, eZiText(TM) makes text-input faster
and easier for taking notes, inputting and searching addresses, e-mailing and
Web browsing. Zi's patented method for character-input is engineered to
optimize memory usage, offering manufacturers an intelligent interface
solution suitable for many different platforms.
