I can't speak to the coastal farming communities but do know a bit about the midwest. There, the farming community has always had a strong work ethic and complete mastery of being jacks of all trades. Layering in Agribots and Vision/AI solutions will be the natural addition to their already advanced practices where IOT and automated machinery are now standard practice tools.

This is going to take a few years to get all on board, once complete our food supply will be cleaner, diseases will be detected earlier so crops can be saved, the soil will be healthier and the work space far safer. The downside is corporate farms are going to win the race initially. Thankfully, the standard go to market model in robotics is by the drop (monthly aaS) so even small/medium farms should be able to compete.

To drive all of this technology requires wireless communications. Platforms such as private cellular and satellite open up the rural area's to quickly advance.

All the pieces are there, it's time to deploy the future.

Examples include

drones to manage livestock cargill.com

laser weeding carbonrobotics.com

smart sensors for health ri.cmu.edu

Variety builtin.com
