Holiday Food Race Twas neck and neck, For food by the peck. To close to call, The race for it all. Leaders did entwine, In the jog for the wine. The judges were torn, In the race for the corn. A photo finish, In the run for the spinach. Close as a clam, In the dash for the ham. It was a dead heat, The race for the meat. Three winners had luck, As they waddled for duck, Came in for a tie, The race for the pie. The field it was plucky, They all did get so lucky, Came looking so fecund, As they strove for their second. The tables were emptied, Belts o'er flowed. Participants rested, Their faces aglow. All were so happy, Win, place, and show. S. |
