14:00 ET Dow -105, Nasdaq -66, S&P -21.40: [BRIEFING.COM] Another recovery try being attempted by the market as the indices rebound from their worst levels of the day... To this point, buyers haven't shown much conviction as the market has been handcuffed by a sense that some profit taking is in order following the strong run from early-April lows... Furthermore, there is some apprehension ahead of tomorrow's employment report as investors caught a glimpse today of a deteriorating economy with the release of the initial claims, Challenger layoffs, and non-manufacturing NAPM data... Tobacco and alcohol-- both considered to be defensive plays-- are the only S&P groups with a gain of, at least, 1.0% at the moment... NYSE Adv/Dec 1050/1914... Nasdaq Adv/Dec 1263/2360.
