I have my computers hooked up to a router to share a single cable modem connection. I run Datek streamer on one computer and Velocity streamer on another. The Velocity streamer uses a lot more of my cpu than the Datek streamer. I am still experimenting on reducing the drag on the cpu. Currently, I am shutting down Norton antivirus while running the Velocity streamer. I also have reduced the number of quotes streaming at one time. I have changed my swap file setting to minimize it's use. I'm starting to read about overclocking but since this is an Intel it is apparently not as easy as overclocking an AMD. Sometimes I suspect the Norton cpu usage monitor is just stuck at 100%. I am also dealing with some side issues that may be influencing the computers performance. Norton diagnostics test indicates a failure of my memory in one test. However, Dell diagnostics does not so indicate. I also recently switched my video cards to Matrox dualheads.
My system did not lock up today during trading but Monday will probably be a better test than today.
