Hundreds of thousands of businesses and households across Central and East Texas remained without power Thursday as utility companies scrambled to make repairs. Austin Energy said it doesn’t know when it will be able to restore power to around 150,000 households and businesses affected. Roads were still glazed in ice late Thursday in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, but conditions were expected to improve as the weather warms over the next few days.

Texas is the only part of the United States that is exempt from common sense design regulations issued by FERC, and it constantly shows what a problem this is.

Having recently moved from California, Elon Musk is outraged that Texas is unable to keep the power on.
