Don't expect any deep answers on that one, Bill. Having been intrigued by Applix enough to do plenty of research was apparently a reference to an ongoing process versus a complete state. One could not have done any meaningful research and miss announcement as glaring as the OLAP benchmark -- plastered on page one of Applix' website. Wiping the floor with the competition was the only drying up evidenced there and that may be an understatement.

Applix has an integrated set of modern software assets; others have an entrenched but decaying collection of warmed-over SQL applications masquerading as modern technology. Applix is just slightly ahead of the industry curve and they are in good company if IBM and Sun are any indication.
