Interesting G* information:

--G* service providers are required to make minimum payments to G* equal to 50% of target revenues. "Based upon current targets(which are subject to adjustment in 1998 based upon updated market analysis), such minimum payment totals approximately $5 billion through 2005."

--capacity is 800 million to 1 billion billable call minutes/month assuming equal fixed and mobile usage--the absence of any other systems using the CDMA spectrum will keep that capacity high(TRW's Odyssey was going to use it before it folded).

--one more note to once more go over the ownership structure. GSTRF owns 29.3% of the Globalstar Limited Partnership(GLP), which has 52,317,000 units total. That is, 15,316,486 units are owned by the public entity. Loral owns 38.5% of GLP, and Qualcomm 7% of GLP. GE recently acquired 5 million GSTRF common, or 16.4% of the common shares of GSTRF, which equates to 4.8% of the GLP. Does this make sense to everyone?
