I agree that this is an act of desperation. It only makes sense if you have a data solution that allows you to combine a WAN low rate more expensive data network with a Wi-Lan network as a complement. If you don't even have a WAN data network to feed the wi-lan what do you have. Sprint and Boingo's approach to Wi-Lan makes more sense than Voicestream. Still it does serve to get the financial community off the back for another delaying session.
