If I were a VOD shareholder, I would sell now, cause such a deal will be dilutive. VOD is a good buy back at 10 % lower levels.

Take taxes into consideration and selling now to buy back in at 10% lower levels just gives you a severe tax hit. A 10% move is a meaningless move. Most Vod holders have made multiples on their investments.

I believe Vod will bid as high as 250 euros and this deal will be done one way or the other. It wouldn't surprise me if Bell Atlantic steps in to help Vod finance this deal in return for an equity stake or better terms on the the Vod-Bel deal in the U.S. Further, France Telecom, NTT, or another telecom may help Vod in return for consideration.
