KB, That's the hard sell part, but also the beauty of it. It would be totally fair across the board. I think that if everyone had to pay something, whether they earn a dollar or a million they would take a greater interest in how it is spent. It might relieve some of the feeling of entitlement that the people earning smaller incomes have.
The fact that we're taxed in so many different ways leaves none untouched. I would think that the government's take would increase overall and (fingers crossed)would lead to an elimination of some of the myriad hidden taxes that are so pervasive. Then we would create more capitol more investment, more jobs, more spending, all of which would create more revenue for the government and they could lower the percentage they need to operate because the need for all the useless social programs would be greatly reduced. Excuse me I'm getting giddy.LOL
Unfortunately there is entire industry built around our tax code and change is always resisted even for the small things. tank
