I'm glad you fielded that one. It's such an old debate --- and the evidence so overwhelming --- I didn't have the energy to tackle it again. Yawn. . .

You're right, too, about VDSL. I appears the fiber backbone is being put in place and once it's to the curb, plain ol' copper will do the rest. In Hong Kong, they're going straight to VDSL because the fiber's already to the building in most places.
