- i.e. can't recreate what you never had - however, DSP could easily
address some of the shortcomings due to basic capacitance and crosstalk
(provided these are deterministic effects).

I guess the question I should ask is whether you believe that PMLCD is
otherwise a viable flat panel technology for the volume market - i.e. TVs.
I think we probably all believe that AMLCD is too complex/expensive, and
that PMLCD doesn't necessarily offer quality. However, from a manufacturing
perspective might PMLCD achieve the right production cost targets ?

If basic PMLCD is viable from a cost perspective, and the right sort
of electronics can overcome some of the inherent quality shortcomings,
then does PMLCD become a serious candidate for the volume market ?

Has anyone seen the CHIPS & TECH demonstration ? I'd be interested to
know how good this is subjectively.
