Juan:

Amoco would be high on the list as they were shut out of the bidding on the Uzen field along with Petronas. See post # 2004 . CNPC paid 800 million .
Should use any and all dips for buying. Is'nt it irionic how people are worried about the political risks when a much bigger risk is owning a major US company. Some are thinking drill in gulf of Mexico to get big returns from big underwater fields; here development costs are extremely high and the political risks very high if you consider what one human error or earthquake spill would do to a companies equity. Kaz oil like an Easter Egg hunt. They can probably produce there for 50 cents per barrel. Led by Mobil { over 1/2 of profit comes from PT Arun field in Sumatra}, the majors are selling US production and moving out. Remember in 21st century a bigger risk is that 93% of the world's lawyers are in the US practicing in a molasses legal system.
Someone knows there is a potientally huge field in this property.
