Re trillion dollar market caps--

Where once a company's market cap was limited by the size of its country's economy, now it is limited only by the size of the world economy.

The hardware and lumber industries used to be scattered all over the place with no large players in the US.

The banking industry was that way, before interstate banking. Then, they were allowed to cross state lines and market caps of the largest banks began to explode.

With globalization, national boundaries become less important, and banks are merging across borders, and the banks' market caps continue to climb.

The internet, communications and information are the driving force in this globalization. With the banks, growth was only available by buying others, because there were too many suppliers for the markets. With telecomm/internet infrastructure, etc., the number of potential suppliers is limited, and the market is not mature. We ain't seen nothing yet!

Just a thought.

Best,
John
