I just thought of a book you would enjoy: "Miss Smilla's Feeling For Snow" amazon.com It is apparently hard to find on Amazon.com but not so on Amazon.uk, if you wish to order it from there. I see the commentary has focused on the murder & intrigue part of the story. Well, it is a detective book the way Shibumi is a spy book :-) There is a lot more to the story. The movie "Smilla's Sense of Snow", based on this book, with Julia Ormond, was also pretty good, although the book is of course much better: us.imdb.com I really think you will like this book. Trust me and get it :-)
