I'd say they were more opposites.

Which is the same as saying that the market is not free. One of the Adam Smith requirements for a free market is that buyers and sellers are "equal".


I wouldn't say buyers and sellers are equal. I could have worded my statement better. Supply and demand are balanced (equalized) over time by price. We're in a period where the overall trend is toward higher prices (which I believe is the long term trend tho we've recently seen a temporary I think counter trend) - because of supply constraints coupled with growth in demand.
