Thank you for bringing this up. I was not plugged in to the VG debacle until just before my post when I did some cursory research and found out about VG's IPO and the lawsuits. That is probably why PDX's discount increased this past year and recent performance was subpar.

This could be a buy opportunity. Yes, the negative news is out there and the price may have overcorrected.

The important thing to note is that PDX. rebranded itself in 2023 with a new name, call letters and Objective.
They went from an energy focused equity fund to a Dynamic Income (Credit) fund which is central to Pimco's bread and butter business.

This process takes time as PDX unwinds from these Oil and Gas equity investments and transitions to a nimble credit/income fund. I believe in Pimco as an astute CEF fund manager. When I see a Pimco bond fund selling at an 11% discount, I feel I as I am getting in at a bargain basement price. Personally I think the risk is relatively low.

Now for full disclosure, I did purchase my modest number of PDX shares about a year ago. The fund is paying 7.24% yield and the shares are presently up 1.8% on cost. I am so far doing ok with my small investment but no huge cap gains. I take a long term view and feel we are still early in this game.
I am happy to continue holding my PDX shares and collecting my 7.24% distribution and waiting for some capital appreciation and dividend growth down the road.

This is my opinion and I could be wrong about this so beware.
