The graphic above was taken from an entry on Brough Turner's blog site concerning the useful life of network elements in "broadband" architectures. Personally, I think the link electronics may be getting short shrift here, especially emergent ones that are increasingly upgradeable, not to mention the cost recovery times needed in order for the service provider to break even. And hopefully the laws and regulations bar would be a bit shorter, at least as it relates to the next swing favoring the public good ;) blogs.nmss.com ------
