You'd make a great plot writer, Jim, with "plot" being the operative term there. Such roles as you described that could now be seen arguably as befitting Google were once reserved in sci-fi flicks for "The Telephone Company", sometimes IBM or other monolithic representation of silicon and software.

Do you recall that film make that I'm referring to? I believe it was filmed during the 60s or 70s, and it was called __________? Its closing scene revealed that all of the world's matters were subject to telco surveillance and ultimately fell under its control.
