Hi E ...

I'll be happy to explain; actually, as an aside, I'm beginning to believe my SI buddy who tried to talk me out of this in advance ...

Commerce Bank opened the memorial fund using my tax id since they cannot open any account without one. The understanding is that my attorney is working on a tax free id and that Commerce will change the tax id as soon as I receive it and before any closing wire is made.

I requested that Commerce put an online restriction on the account for NO WITHDRAWALS and NO CHECKS; so essentially, the account at this time is deposit only. It will remain that way until 10/15.

As soon as NY establishes the fund they are working on for the surviving children, I'll provide Commerce with that account. I am in communication with the NYC mayor's office on this. On 10/15, Commerce will close this account and wire the entire balance directly to the NY fund being established for the children.

The tax id will be changed prior to that wire taking place.

They may not appreciate me naming names on the internet but I encourage anyone to contact either of the following Commerce Bank individuals at 215-361-9300 with any questions they may have:

Ella Griggs - Manager
Joan White - Asst. Mgr.

All checks should be made out to "Silicon Investors 911 Firefighters Fund" and account number 36-054994-3 should be on the notation line as you indicated.

It most likely wouldn't hurt to include a short note along with any check.

Peace ... and thanks for thinking of the small ones ... JB < a pretty sad dad >
