RF Industries' Neulink Division Begins Shipping Orders Valued at More Than $300,000
Division Receives Initial Purchase Order From Asian Distributor
SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 9, 1997--RF Industries Ltd. (NASDAQ:RFIL) Tuesday announced that its RF Neulink Division received the first production order for its new 150 MHZ paging exciter, commenced shipping modems under an existing contract and received a new contract for Neulink 9600 wireless modems.
The total value of these three orders exceeds $300,000.
``We are excited about this first production order, valued at approximately $100,000, for our paging exciter/transmitter product. Including the design and engineering for this new transmitter, Neulink has proven the product's performance with China beta site testing.
``This paging exciter, specifically developed for the Asian market, enables RF Neulink to expand its presence in the rapidly growing digital and wireless markets in China and the South Pacific. The paging exciters will begin shipping in the current quarter,'' said Arthur Ekroos, president of RF Neulink.
Ekroos noted that after numerous delays, Neulink is now delivering wireless modems designed for a major industrial customer. ``We expect to deliver the initial shipment, valued at approximately $200,000, in the current quarter. These new transceivers are an essential component in an environmental control product our customer expects to introduce later this year,'' he said.
Howard Hill, president of RF Industries, said, ``These orders, including a recent contract from a new customer in the leisure and recreation industry, will help Neulink to achieve profitability in the current quarter and fiscal year ending Oct. 31, 1997. We believe that the markets addressed by these new products and contracts represent a significant growth opportunity for RF Neulink.''
RFI's Connectors division manufactures, distributes and designs radio frequency (RF) coaxial connectors used in personal communication systems (PCS), radio communications, test instruments, PC LANs and antenna devices.
