Harvard Industries And Advanti.Com Announce Strategic Alliance
LEBANON, N.J., May 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Harvard Industries, Inc. (Nasdaq: HAVA) and Advanti.com Corporation today announced their intention to create "Harvard Solutions," a strategic alliance designed to provide enterprise resource planning (ERP) outsourcing solutions for industry.
"Harvard has spent more than $13 million developing and implementing an effective ERP system in all of our 15 operations," said Roger G. Pollazzi, Harvard's chief executive officer. "The combination of our experience and the excellent systems knowledge of Advanti.com will give manufacturing clients a head-start because they'll be dealing directly with operations people who have 'been there and done that.'"
By blending Advanti.com's experience in IT operations and high- availability Internet platforms with Harvard Industries' ERP implementation and manufacturing expertise, Harvard Solutions will significantly shorten the learning curve for prospective manufacturing clients.
Over the past year, Harvard Industries has been implementing a custom JBA system on an AS/400 platform as part of a company-wide push for modernization and Y2K compliance. The lessons learned from this implementation, coupled with Harvard's 60-plus years of manufacturing success, provide an invaluable understanding of the challenges facing prospective clients.
"This strategic alliance addresses a strong need in the marketplace," said Mark McNulty, president of Advanti.com. "Harvard Solutions' 24x7 end-to-end accountability will enhance our customers' competitive advantage by reducing costs, providing for disaster recovery and, most importantly, giving them control of information technology that will literally transform their business."
Since 1996, Advanti.com has been successfully designing, building and implementing Data Center solutions for a variety of corporate clients. Their expertise in providing network operations, Internet data centers and enterprise-grade ISP support will ensure Harvard Solutions clients are receiving the highest-quality technological solutions available.
Harvard Solutions expects to grow rapidly from initially providing IT solutions to Harvard Industries, Inc., to offering services nationwide and overseas through a series of data center facilities.
"This alliance fits squarely in the center of our strategic plan," continued Pollazzi. "We are committed to increasing the size of our non- automotive sales to 40% of our overall business. We believe this venture will play a significant role in our future as a profitable, strong company, focused on operating income, not just volume for volume's sake." |
